Obama’s New Debt Relief Program Delivers to Homeowners and Citizens Drowning in Debt!
February 19, 2010
The now titled MHA program (Making Home Affordable) has been known by many names; however for millions of Americans it might as well be called Hope. Where there were no viable solutions for those having mortgage problems before this plan there are people that can now finally have hope in their future.
The Home Affordable Refinance program is one that is going to be made available to 4 million up to 5 million homeowners that have had solid payment histories and hold an existing Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae mortgage. Before the Obama plan none of these homeowners would be able to refinance their homes because the market value has drastically dipped due to our current economic climate. The impact of this is vast and wide as 3 million to 4 million of the people that this plan will be available to and help are ones that were facing foreclosure, the loss of their home and of their American dream.
The government working through working relationships with both the banking and the credit union regulators among others, the Treasury department announced that the new guidelines set forth are going to become an industry standard. This will stimulate and push forward a more viable and sustainable practice when it comes to affordable mortgages for homeowners. Under the program the borrowers are going to be able to refinance and save their homes with a more sustainable mortgage type; such as an adjustable rate mortgage to a 30-year fixed rate loan. This will allow for homes to finally be made affordable again and finally provide hope where there was none. If you fall into this category you can and should seek out a solution.
